(Applied Physics)
PHY323S (Applied Physics) is a senior half course in the MPSS Programme for the
specially constructed curriculum in Materials Physics. It may run
in the second semester in 2003, if there is sufficient enrollment.
The course content is being developed and modified, and this
web-page will be updated.
Syllabus
It is provisionally expected to contain the following
- Experimental Techniques
- Solid State Physics
- crystal structure
- lattice vibrations
- electron states in solids, energy band theory
- semiconductor physics and devices
- Applied Physics
Content to be confirmed by Professors Comrie and Britton.
Laboratory
There will be a set of about six experiments.
