AB: Angstrom Bar

This experiment is an exploration of the thermal conductivity of a long metal bar using thermocouples interfaced to a PC running LabVIEW. Fourier methods will be applied to the analysis of the data.

In preparation for this practical, in addition to reading the experiment instructions, students should acquaint themselves with the derivation and properties of the heat equation.
A useful reference is "Applied Partial Differential Equations" by Richard Haberman, although any undergraduate-level text on partial differential equations will suffice.
